The United Arab Emirates (UAE) conformity assessment programs are implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT)

MoIAT implements two types of conformity assessment schemes:

• The Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) for specific categories of products requiring a Certificate of Conformity, such certificates are required before releasing shipments of subjected goods upon arrival.

• The Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) scheme, which is both a voluntary and mandatory scheme (for certain beverages) establishing requirements to license a product to use the Quality Mark - EQM.

Bureau Veritas is an accredited Notified Body under both schemes and approved by MoIAT to conduct the conformity assessment services and assist economic operators to obtain the required ECAS and EQM certificates and licenses.
